Kristen (she/her) is a passionate animal advocate on a mission to make a difference one wagging tail at a time! She has been a volunteer at MACC for over 3 years as a dog walker, treadmill trainer, volunteer mentor, playgroup helper, and content creator. One of her many goals for MACC Pack is to create more awareness of MACC and their programs to the public. She has a soft spot for the high energy and reactive dogs that need more TLC at the shelter. Kristen is a dog mom of two to George (Great Pyrenees Mix) and Mayhem (Czech Working Line German Shepherd). She recently adopted Turducken (Yellow Bellied Slider) from MACC after having a board meeting in the reptile room at MACC.
Matt (he/him) is a 20 year resident of Minneapolis, who has been active in the animal welfare community since 2010. He was a member of Citizens for Minneapolis Animal Care who pressured City Council for reforms at MACC. Their reforms included the adoption of all breeds, a larger focus on live release and adoption rates, improving partnerships with local rescue organizations, and to improve quality of life by providing enrichment to the animals at the shelter. He has been a member of the MACC advisory board since 2014.
Amber (she/her) is a recent and enthusiastic addition to the non-profit community. She began volunteering with several Minneapolis organizations in 2025, which eventually led her to MACC Pack—where she proudly escorted Anders, a 10‑month‑old deaf pup available for adoption, to his very first dog yoga session.
A lifelong animal lover, Amber grew up surrounded by cats and dogs and is known for never passing an animal without stopping to offer a greeting and a little affection. At home, she shares her life with Navi, a spirited tortoiseshell cat, and Indy, her beloved Australian shepherd rescue.
Amber is excited to bring her passion for animals, her curiosity, and her growing experience in the non-profit sector to the board.
Jeff (he/him) helps his community by volunteering in leadership and direct service roles at multiple nonprofit organizations. Making the world more fair and kind is vital; building people and pet families is an important way to accomplish that goal. He has been a MACC foster dad for 2 years and looks forward to supporting the animals, staff, and volunteers by helping launch MACC Pack into a sustainable and successful partner.
Ali (she/her) has been an animal lover and advocate since her youth. She grew up on a hobby farm caring for horses, dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks. She was also an active participant in her local 4-H club. Ali joined MACC Pack because it combines two of her big passions in life, working with people and working with animals. She spent almost 10 years in the veterinary field, and has been a Firefighter/EMT for the past 5 years. To have the opportunity to join this organization has been incredibly exciting! Ali has a Pit Bull named Figgy that she adopted from UnbreakaBULL who is such a fun combination of "house hippo" and "tiny tornado". In her free time, Ali enjoys hiking and exploring the outdoors. She also enjoys going to concerts, watching movies, and playing sports.
